A panoramic camera perched on top of the mast gives you an inspiring perspective
National Geographic Orion and National Geographic Explorer are outfitted with a controllable camera situated at the very top of the ship’s mast. Our captains can use the camera as visual reconnaissance (the ship is also equipped with forward scanning sonar) to search for open ice leads ahead of the ship, or to zoom in on distant wildlife—very helpful to help identify polar bears against the white ice! This unique view is also continuously broadcast to your in-cabin TV.
