Act One: M/V Sea Lion Voyage 7/28/02-8/04/02
Cast Of Players In Order Of Appearance:

SCENE ONE:
Hood Bay, Admiralty Island
67 guests, 24 crew and 6 staff aboard a 152 foot ship in Southeast Alaska.
The scene opens with all guests and staff on the bow and crew driving the Ship and preparing for breakfast. Lots of oohs and ahhs from the bow.

Subadult Brown Bear, moves into the forest edge showing his rump.
Juvenile Brown Bear, moves along the shore until he senses the ship--runs into the woods.
Bald Eagle, roosts on spruce tree and flies across bay.
Bonaparte's Gull, calls furtively from the water and joins others in group of 25.
Harbor Seal in water swims quietly with reflection of mountains in background.
Marbled Murrletts in pairs or singles every 100 yards. Dive on approach showing cute, white butt.

SCENE TWO:
Chatham Strait
All guests and staff again on bow. Crew is cleaning up after breakfast and beginning to clean cabins.
Lots of oohs and ahhs from the bow.

Surf Scooters and White-winged Scooters, in combined flock showing off orange bills and white markings.
Yellow-billed Loon, with bill upturned and in full Sunday-go-to-meeting plumage.
Harbor Seals hauled out on island, sun comes out and 20 of them lay on exposed rocks at low tide.
Glaucous-winged Gull, flies over ship so guests can get good look at plumage for identification.
Dall's Porpoises, small school swim by 100 yards off the bow and show their beautiful dorsal fins.
Humpback Whale, spouts in the distance and then passes within 100 yards to many oohs and ahhs.
Dall's Porpoise, swim by again showing off.
Northern Fur Seal, stumps staff for a moment then shows his long flippers, rounded snout and luxurious fur.

SCENE THREE:
Lake Eva Trail.
Guests divided into groups of about 12 go off into the Forest Primeval.
Lots of old-growth forest plants and trees, with staff talking about their uses and other interesting facts.
Coho Salmon, swim around in pool above waterfall and look huge and yummy.
Brown Bear, young adult comes out of the forest 50 yards from hiking group. Lots of oohs and aahs.

SCENE FOUR:
Hanus Bay.
Guests in kayaks along extraordinarily beautiful coastline.

Harbor Seals, swim in calm water looking curiously at kayakers.
Brown Bear Cub, watches kayakers from coastal meadow and then lays cutely on rocks at water's edge.

END OF ACT ONE:
Ship heads south in Chatham Strait as pastel evening light covers Southeast Alaska with a blanket of beauty. Guests go to sleep not believing all the things that they have experienced that day.
