Tower Island
Because this archipelago is surrounded by thousands of miles of open ocean, sea birds have a prominent place in the fauna of the islands. Genovesa never fails us; we had a superb day here as usual. Right after we disembarked we saw almost everything that can be seen. Swallow-tailed gulls and red-footed boobies were busy taking care of their chicks and building nests as well, and of course frigate birds, the pirates of the air, were all over the place. This is an island that amazes everyone, because every where you look you find a bird doing something and today was not the exception.
In addition to the walk among the feathered inhabitants of the islands, we went snorkeling along the cliffs of Darwin Bay, and the conditions were extraordinary with great visibility and calm waters. Every body came back aboard very happy.
