Bartolome & Santiago Islands

This is Lucho, reporting from the beautiful Galapagos Islands. Our visits have been great this entire week!

We have almost come to an end with our trip around the Galapagos. The islands of Bartolome and Santiago are an example of the pure beauty of these islands, and the positive energy of the archipelago has undoubtedly been transmitted to our guests. Today I feel like I have just drunk a pure energy cocktail. The ingredients are unique: two ounces of blue-footed booby dances, one ounce of tortoises’ peace, and for the color…red marine iguanas from Hood Island. Shake and drink, cold or hot, it doesn’t matter as long as you do it here, on board of the Polaris!

I can also tell that such a cocktail has been a hit on board. Our guests have been the type that we call “do it all-ers.” Even when all of our outings are “optional,” nobody wants to miss what’s out there. It seems that this cocktail gives you not only energy but also rejuvenates!

Galapagos is such a dream place for everyone. It does not matter if you work or if you are visiting, but when you are finally here, you understand that dreams really do come true…

The morning hike up Bartholomew Island left us breathless and not just from the climb. The landscape tones and hues (as you can see in the photograph) are too numerous and subtle to name here. The afternoon walk along the dramatic coastline of Santiago to the fur seal grottos was a meeting of rock, sand and wave in the dynamic rhythm of the millennia.
