Santa Cruz Island
To live means so many different things. To live is to breathe, to see, to touch and to feel. To live is to cry and to live is to laugh. When you can do it all yet in the company of those you love, you live at the most. When one can enjoy new places and experiences, learning about different cultures and landscapes, not as an individual being but as part of a group, the happening is more gratifying. There is nothing better than the closeness of dear family, and traveling as a family is an ever-lasting memory.
Sometimes we take that for granted, but it is important to always remember that the greatest treasure one can posses is the support and love of one’s family.
Galapagos is a cumulus of new knowledge that our young, very young guests on board the Polaris are absorbing. We learned today about the Charles Darwin Research Station breeding programs to save giant tortoises and land iguanas. We have learned about evolution and Darwin; we have learned about marine currents and geology. But this week’s Polaris Family Program Expedition is teaching us, overall, that there is nothing as sweet and as fundamental than the affection and solidarity of one’s family.
