Alberto Montaudon
Alberto Montaudon Ferrer grew up in Tampico, Mexico, where early explorations of the Chairael Lagoon and the Tamesí River fostered a lasting connection to the natural world. Guided by his father’s encouragement to understand and respect nature, he pursued a career in biology and field-based interpretation.
Alberto joined Lindblad Expeditions as a Naturalist in 2001 and has since shared his interests with guests across a wide range of regions. His areas of focus include bird biology, undersea exploration and wildlife photography, all grounded in a strong commitment to conservation.
For several years, Alberto lived in a remote log cabin in Haines, Alaska, deepening his experience in northern ecosystems. Today, he and his family divide their time between Colima, Mexico, and Copey de Dota in Costa Rica’s Talamanca Mountain Range, maintaining close ties to biodiverse landscapes in both regions.
As a Naturalist, Alberto approaches guiding as a form of storytelling, using field observations and personal experience to encourage appreciation for wildlife and the importance of protecting the environments in which it thrives.
