Floreana Island

Dec 04, 2017 - National Geographic Endeavour II

Today we explored Floreana Island by every mode of transport available to us on the expedition. In the morning we hiked on Punta Cormorant to visit two drastically different beaches, and caught glimpses of bright pink flamingos feeding in the inland brackish lagoon. In the late morning snorkelers jumped into the Pacific Ocean to see the abundance of marine life in these churning, nutrient filled waters. In the afternoon we took Zodiacs, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards to deliver our postcards to the mail barrel at Post Office Bay.
